The Consulate General of Turkmenistan in Istanbul organized an event in honor of the 300th anniversary Magtymguly Fragi

On May 15, 2024, a solemn event dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi was held at the Consulate General of Turkmenistan in Istanbul.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of the scientific intelligentsia, famous writers and public figures of Turkey, representatives of the Turkmen diaspora, students and the media.

In his welcoming speech, the Consul General of Turkmenistan in Turkey M. Ovezov introduced those present to the successes of the country achieved over the years of independence in various fields. The Turkmen diplomat also noted the significant influence of Magtymguly’s immortal heritage on the culture of Turkmenistan and many other states.

Then, young poetry connoisseurs read out the poems of the great Turkmen poet Magtymguly Fragi, and also talked about the indelible influence of the poet’s work on his descendants.

Guests also visited an exhibition of paintings dedicated to the life and work of Magtymguly Fragi, which also presented publications with his works, samples of Turkmen national clothing and applied art products.
