Priority areas of Turkmen-Tajik cooperation were considered in Ashgabat

On March 27, 2025, a meeting was held in Ashgabat between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin, who arrived to participate in the Ministerial Meeting in the “Central Asia - European Union” format.

During the meeting, it was noted that an important factor in activating interstate dialogue is the trusting relationship that has developed between the leaders of two countries, as well as the results of meetings and talks at the highest levels, which have recently become regular.

The Foreign Ministers emphasized their constructive commitment towards further expansion and strengthening of trade-economic, cultural and humanitarian ties between the two states.

The discussion also focused on current issues of mutual interest on the regional and global agenda. In this context, the sides discussed preparations for the first European Union – Central Asia Summit scheduled to be held in Samarkand in the coming days.

At the end of the meeting, the interlocutors expressed confidence that Turkmen-Tajik relations, based on the principles of centuries-old friendship, spiritual, historical and cultural unity of fraternal peoples, will continue to develop successfully.
