THE POLITICAL AND ECONOMIC ASPECTS OF TURKMEN-AMERICAN COOPERATION DISCUSSED IN WASHINGTON

On November 21, 2019, in the framework of the working visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan to Washington, a meeting was held with the US Under Secretary of State for Economic Growth, Energy and the Environment Keith Krach. 

The parties discussed the key issues of bilateral cooperation in trade-economic and transport-transit spheres, including the opportunities of expanding the partnership in the field of oil and gas industry, digital technologies and the renewable sources of energy. 

Then, the meeting with the US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs David Hale took place, during which the parties discussed the level of political-diplomatic dialogue between the two countries and viewed the cooperation in the framework of international organizations, primarily the United Nations. The diplomats exchanged views on regional security in the Central Asia, noted the significance of applying the preventive diplomacy and widening the humanitarian collaboration.
